Abdominal cramps are a common health problem in men that can have a variety of causes, depending on the severity and accompanying symptoms. Occasional disturbances in bowel movements. These disturbances can include constipation and diarrhea. Drinking water, eating enough fiber and exercising can help with the condition. Gas and bloating. Both of these symptoms can be signs of constipation and diarrhea, which can also cause abdominal cramps. Eating more slowly can help with the condition. Stress or anxiety. Occasional or prolonged episodes of stress and anxiety can take a toll on the abdomen, causing pain and discomfort. Relaxation techniques can help, but professional help is needed if the patient’s mental health does not improve. Exercise on a full stomach. Eating too much food before a workout can cause uncomfortable cramps. Smaller meals at least an hour before training are recommended. Muscle stretching.
