The first case of foot orgasm syndrome has been identified. A 55-year-old woman from the Netherlands began to spontaneously orgasm from the inside of the sole of her left foot. The strange way to reach orgasm came about as a result of intensive foot treatment for a year. Doctors believe that nerves became tangled during the therapy, giving the wrong signal to the brain about irritation of the genitals from the rubbing of the foot. So far, no basic neurobiological connection between the legs and the genitals has been discovered, scientists explain. However, they add, many people are sexually attracted to the look of nice legs and feet. According to others, the foot is a fetish and touching it causes arousal. The report also states that a woman’s brain is unable to distinguish between sensations coming from the genitals and those from the legs, hence the problem. Specialists explain that the problem is not psychological, but neurological. The conclusions of the report are published in the National Center for Biological Treatment.
