The notion that using condoms can reduce the pleasurable sensation during intercourse is completely wrong. Failure to use this type of contraception can increase the risk of AIDS and unwanted pregnancy. Researchers surveyed 5,865 people of both sexes between the ages of 18-59 about their preferences and feelings about using condoms or not. Also, the volunteers were asked during the study period to have sex with different types of condoms (latex, polyurethane, etc.) and without this type of contraception and to describe whether they felt any difference. Analyzing the responses of the respondents, the researchers found no significant difference in sexual pleasure, libido or potency when using a condom or not. To avoid the risk of burning sensation or irritation of the penis or vagina, the solution is not to neglect the use of a condom, as a protective measure against sexually transmitted diseases or unwanted pregnancy, but to choose a material and lubricant that are most suitable and safe for partners, experts advise. Lubricant should be water-based so as not to cause an allergic reaction or irritation. Buying a condom should be smart. Cheap and unsafe condoms leave the impression that their use interferes with the sexual act, which increases the risk of AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases, experts say. The results of the study were published in the journal Sexual Medicine.
