Men are able to determine a woman’s most fertile period just by observing her gait. The way she dances also gives signals, but the biggest “clue” comes from the movement of the hips, German scientists have discovered. Researchers from the University of Göttingen observed 48 women to find out if there really is something special about the way a lady moves. The contestants are filmed walking forward and backward in a straight line, and show dance moves within 30 seconds. The footage was then converted into silhouettes so that the appearance of the women did not influence the judgment of their movements. The experiment is carried out twice – once when the women are ovulating and then when the probability of getting pregnant is lowest. 200 men watch the silhouette videos. They then rate the attractiveness of the gaits and dance steps of the women they observe. According to researcher Bernhard Fink, specific bangs in the hips contribute to their greater sexiness and attractiveness.
