A large percentage of men suffering from erectile dysfunction also experience a number of other sexual problems that cannot be treated with medication, according to a new study published in the British journal Urology International. The results of the study show that 65% of men with erectile dysfunction are unable to reach orgasm and 58% have problems with ejaculation. Half of men aged 40 to 70 have trouble getting or maintaining an erection, researchers found. There are various medications that can be used to control an erection. However, they do not remove the cause of the problem, which is why it is possible to develop subsequent sexual problems, says urologist, Dr. Daria Padac. NEWS_MORE_BOX The study involved more than 12,000 men with mild to moderate erectile dysfunction, who were asked a series of questions about their sex lives. The results show that men with more severe erectile dysfunction are at greater risk of problems with ejaculation and orgasm. However, these problems also occur in men with very mild erectile dysfunction. 26% of the volunteers have problems with reaching orgasm, and 18% with ejaculation. The most common problem related to ejaculation is premature ejaculation. Men also complain of delayed or painful ejaculation, inability to release sperm. Researchers are adamant that even with proper treatment of erectile dysfunction, problems with ejaculation and orgasm will still occur.
