The secret of success is in the fingers, not in the wallet

If a man’s ring finger is longer than the rest of his fingers, the man is innately lucky to get rich, a new study suggests. When the ring finger is larger than the index finger, the man is a careerist and earns a lot of money. This man is a “work hard, play hard” type who won’t take no for an answer, whether he’s trying to win a deal or a girl’s heart. On the other hand, women who want to play it safe choose men with a longer index finger. Men of this type or Mr. Security never take unnecessary risks. Testosterone levels are linked to finger length in both men and women, but so far only in men do these levels illustrate their individuality, say scientists at Concordia University in Canada. In their study, they measured the length of the fingers of 415 volunteers of both sexes. The results and analysis were published in the journal Personality and Individual Differences. When men have a longer ring finger than their index finger, they have higher testosterone. This makes them α-male type men. α-men are men who always win over women, have a stronger will to win, whether it’s in the form of success in the stock market or in the game of squash. α-men are self-confident, successful, wealthy and are seen as the rulers of women’s hearts, says researcher Eric Stenstrom. High testosterone levels are associated with more than good health, social and financial status in men, says Eric Stenstrom. Women prefer men who are in good physical shape, who like sports, sociable and in a good financial position, i.e. alpha males, he elaborates. In the study, the scientists found no difference in the women’s behavior that was correlated with the length of their fingers. In them, the ring finger and the index finger are usually almost equal, says Prof. Gad Saad, the leader of the study.
