Anaphrodisiacs – products that “kill” the desire for sex

Aphrodisiacs are a group of substances that stimulate sexual desire and potency. Dark chocolate is known to increase libido. Also, this group includes garlic, hot peppers, oysters, avocados, figs and many others. But how much is known about the complete opposite of the aphrodisiac – the anaphrodisiac? And whether they are taken as regularly as chocolate… Artificial sweeteners lead the list of killers of sexual desire. They contain aspartame, an ingredient that conflicts with the “hormone of happiness” – serotonin, without which the libido suffers greatly. This sweetener can be replaced with honey, which is not only more useful, but also does not have the side effects common with aspartame – headaches, irritability and insomnia. Surprisingly to many, the beloved and useful cornflakes also make it to the list of anaphrodisiacs. The very beginning of the product was taken by John Kellogg, who led a real crusade against masturbation, believing that it was the root cause of a number of dangerous diseases such as tuberculosis and hemophilia… For this, he created cornflakes – food without taste, sugar or meat, which to satiate, but not give too much energy to use for impure purposes… Well, he succeeded. Soy is also deservedly present in this black list. Although it is a good substitute for meat, it contains phytoestrogens that compete with testosterone. Its regular consumption can lead to male fertility problems, increased fat tissue levels and hair loss. NEWS_MORE_BOX If we love sex, we should also avoid soft drinks. They are highly sweetened and can cause fluctuations in weight and mood. Consumed frequently, they lead to obesity, tooth decay, and often diabetes. These conditions in themselves harm sex life. What about alcoholic beverages? A drink or two can have a relaxing effect, and wine can bring true romance… But alcohol indirectly lowers testosterone production, which harms the potency of many men. The most inappropriate pre-sex drink is a gin and tonic. The quinine, which is the flavoring of the tonic, and the alcohol in the gin give a double dose of anaphrodisiac in one drink. We also regularly reach for another dangerous libido killer. A cup of nice aromatic coffee in the morning can be refreshing for work, but a lot of caffeine increases the levels of the hormone cortisol, which leads not only to a decreased secretion of testosterone, but also to a drop in energy, because when it is consumed, the glucose in the blood is absorbed more slowly.
