Although women are almost as likely as men to engage in casual sex, they are less likely to follow through with sexual pleasure. According to a new study, women are significantly more likely to orgasm when they are in a serious relationship. The study, which involved 600 university students, found that women were twice as likely to reach orgasm during oral sex or intercourse when they were in a serious relationship compared to casual sex. The findings support a previous New York University study led by sociologist Paula England. It found that 40% of 24,000 young women had an orgasm, compared to 80% of men. Nearly 75% of women in a serious relationship had an orgasm during sex. NEWS_MORE_BOX The researchers’ explanation is that women don’t feel comfortable saying what they want and like during casual sex. On the other hand, men do not focus on satisfying their partner in these cases. Security with a permanent partner, however, is present in serious relationships, where women can relax and reach the end of sexual pleasure.
