An interesting study shows that some of the sex positions most preferred by both sexes carry serious risks of physical trauma for both partners. It turns out that the so-called missionary and doggy position and the woman-on-top position are the riskiest sex positions. Men are more at risk of physical disabilities when practicing them. A study published in the Journal of Impotence Research traces the reasons for the increased incidence of penile fractures in men or potentially dangerous urethral injuries in women during sex, which have increased in recent years. The results show that in the vast majority of cases these injuries are due precisely to the frequent practice of certain sexual positions. The doggy position is defined as the most dangerous position in sex. Clinical practice and follow-up of 90 cases of male penile fractures in the UK show that the majority (over 40%) were caused by sex in a doggy position. Not only does it most often lead to physical risks for a man’s sexual health, but this position also provokes the most serious damage to the penis. In addition, this is the position associated with the greatest risk of genital damage in women as well. Although they are less common, about 50% of cases of urethral damage in women are the result of dangerous practice of the dog position in sex.
