Free endometriosis screenings nationwide

Free endometriosis screenings coming up across the country in March and April 2023. Organized for the fifth year in a row, Endometriosis and Reproductive Health Foundation. The disease affects 1 in 10 women of reproductive age, but is still little known publicly. The full list of medical institutions offering free consultations for endometriosis will be announced step by step on the foundation’s page – https://www.endometriosis.bg/otvoreni-vrati-2023/. At the moment, dates for free examinations are available for Sofia, Pleven, Varna and Burgas, with registrations starting on March 1, 2023. Another serious highlight in Endo March 2023 will be the patient online conference entitled “Endometriosis – the invisible disease”, which will be broadcast live on two consecutive Sundays on March 12 and 19, 2023. The conference will once again feature leading medical professionals, psychologists, patients and therapists, who will discuss topics such as endometriosis pain management, new therapeutic approaches , post-operative care, fertility preservation, nutrition and lifestyle, exercise, etc. It can often be neglected or confused with other diagnoses, it can even be asymptomatic, so worldwide statistics say that it takes between 6 and 10 years for an accurate diagnosis. A woman, on average, visits 8 different medical professionals to get an accurate diagnosis. Late diagnosis is directly related to the more severe course of the disease, as well as to the deterioration of reproductive abilities in women. Between 30% and 50% of women who experience reproductive difficulties have endometriosis. In the context of Bulgaria’s aging population, timely diagnosis and treatment would change many people’s destinies and fulfill the dream of a child in many families. The campaign aims to give access to women with endometriosis or doubts about this disease to reliable specialists in order to receive a timely diagnosis and adequate help. Early diagnosis and effective treatment would dramatically reduce the disease’s devastating impact on women’s reproductive systems. The “Endometriosis and Reproductive Health” Foundation is the first non-governmental organization in Bulgaria for women affected by the disease endometriosis. It works closely with doctors from leading medical institutions in the country, specializing in women’s and reproductive health.
