The expert believes that this instinct originates in the mother’s womb, where the baby’s head is naturally placed in this direction. 2. Kissing requires serious muscle strength Scientists from the Rayne Institute at University College London studied kissing couples during an MRI scan of their brains. They found that kissing primarily involved the orbicularis oris, a muscle located around the mouth.
