Men like women to a greater extent who have a pronounced curve in the area between the waist and buttocks. This is indicated in data of a new study conducted by a research team from the University of Texas in the USA. For the purpose of the study, nearly 100 men rated the degree of attractiveness of different women. According to the results of the analysis, men are much more attracted to those women who have a 45.5 degree waist curve. Scientists describe this value as the “theoretically optimal lumbar curve angle.” The researchers’ theory about the data obtained is that in ancient times, a curve with this angle was considered a factor foretelling a successful pregnancy. Dr. David Lewis explains that this type of spinal structure allows pregnant women to better balance their weight, and the risk of spinal injuries is lower. In turn, men who prefer women with a similar build want a mate who is more likely to provide offspring and who can have multiple pregnancies without trauma. It was found that the preference of men for women with a curve close to the optimum remains, even if it is smaller. The results are published in TIME.
