We’ve all heard the phrase, “We are what we eat.” The food we eat depends not only on our health and appearance, but also on our sexual desire. German researchers from the University of Karlsruhe have conducted a number of studies on the influence of different food products on female libido. The results of the study, in which approximately 790 women between the ages of 25 and 35 took part, show that salty foods have a positive effect on the sexual desire of the fairer sex. The researchers concluded that women who prefer to eat canned vegetables and mushrooms and take up to 30 grams of salt daily have sex 2 to 5 times a week. In contrast, women of the fair sex who hardly eat salty have sex only 2 to 5 times a month. Experts explain that sodium chloride increases the production of testosterone, the hormone responsible for libido. That is why ladies who love salty foods also have an increased sexual desire.
