Therefore, regular sex is associated with improved memory among women. Although the data are conflicting, they offer a scientifically sound motivation for increased sexual activity. Experts explain that women who have more sex remember a greater number of words during the tests. Sexual activity did not help female participants better remember faces. Based on these results, the researchers concluded that intercourse stimulates the hippocampus region of the female brain, meaning that sex improves memory function. According to data from previous studies not focused on sex, any form of physical activity tends to stimulate the area around the hippocampus, from running to yoga.
