As the period of most intense growth of the body, puberty does not always end the increase in height with its passing. Even after adolescence, some boys continue to elongate, albeit at a slower rate. However, this stage of development also has an end, and growth in height is eventually stopped. And while there is no exact age for this, the point at which a boy has reached his maximum height can be ascertained. In boys, there is a very clear relationship between weight and puberty. Puberty-associated changes in overweight or obese boys have been found to begin at a later age. This also applies to body growth. Thus, these boys can be expected to grow in height until later in life, even shortly after puberty. An interesting dependence is also observed in the growth rates of both sexes in the period of adolescence. Boys have been found to start puberty about a year later than girls. Thus, in the age period between 11 and 14 years, boys are often shorter than girls. It is between the ages of 11 and 14 that puberty begins for most boys. Physical development has been found to be most intense within 2 to 5 years of its onset. This means that some boys may reach their maximum height as early as 16 years old, and others as late as 19. And there are exceptions where, due to lifestyle factors, growth may continue until the age of 20. Such a trend is observed in boys who engage in regular physical activity throughout their puberty. NEWS_MORE_BOX Continuation of growth even shortly after the end of puberty is also reported in boys who are the offspring of two tall parents. There is even a method by which experts believe that it is possible to determine with relative accuracy how tall such a boy will grow. A special formula is used. The height of both parents is added, divided by 2 and 6 cm is added to the resulting value. Many experiments show that the results are adequate, of course, in cases where the boy grows up under optimal conditions of the living environment.
