Experts reveal why sex gets better with time in new research. The popular belief that younger people enjoy sexual activity best is not necessarily true. In a study published in the Journal of Sex Research covering more than 6,000 people aged 20 to 93, sexologists concluded that young people accept as a postulate the idea that “the more sex, the better sex life”. The middle-aged and older people surveyed, however, are not so much interested in the frequency of intimate contacts as they are in their quality and how much effort is put into them. The research points to the idea that the good relationship between sex quality and age is strongest in the context of a healthy psychological and emotional relationship. In this case, the emphasis is on sexual discovery and on the pleasure that is given to the partner, not what is received. This is a direct reflection of human sexuality. With more experience and practice, confidence in movements increases, communication skills improve and express sexual desires clearly, and inhibitions are lowered. All of this leads to a richer, more colorful and ultimately more satisfying sex life.
